Ferry notices

What each domestic ferry operator has published, copied word for word, with the time we last checked. We do not interpret, summarise or predict sailings.

Operators change sailings at short notice, and their own site is always the authority. Use the link on each card to confirm before you drive to a port. English is shown where the operator publishes it; otherwise you see the operator's Icelandic text, unchanged.

  • ⚠️ Attention passengers

    1st of October 2026

Herjólfur will sail to Þorlákshöfn this afternoon, as weather and sea conditions prevent sailings to Landeyjahöfn.

Departure from Vestmannaeyjar at 16:00 (previously scheduled for 17:00).

Departure from Þorlákshöfn at 19:45 (previously scheduled for 20:45).

The sailings at 18:15, 19:30, 22:00 and 23:15 are therefore cancelled.

An update regarding tomorrow morning’s sailings will be issued at 06:00 tomorrow morning. The current forecast indicates that sailings will likely need to operate to and from Þorlákshöfn, but this will be confirmed once the latest forecast is available.

At this time of year, sailings may be rerouted between ports, so we advise passengers against leaving vehicles at either mainland port.

Passengers wishing to use the ferry’s sleeping facilities are reminded to bring their own bedding.

Hvað varðar siglingar í fyrramálið verður gefin út tilkynning kl. 06:00 í fyrramálið. Spá gefur þó til kynna að sigla þurfi til/frá Þorlákshöfn en tilkynning verður gefin út þegar nýjasta spá liggur fyrir.

Á þessum árstíma er alltaf hætta á færslu milli hafna og því ekki æskilegt að skilja eftir farartæki í annarri hvorri höfninni.
