1. Service Description

Iceland Roads provides real-time road condition information, weather warnings, aurora forecasts, and trip planning tools for Icelandic roads.

• The website is free to everyone. Every map, road condition, forecast, F-road status and aurora page is open, with no account and no payment
• Email alerts are free. F-road openings, severe weather warnings, wind alerts, daily forecast digests and aurora alerts, all opt-in and all free at present

Data sourced from Vegagerðin (Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration) and Veðurstofa Íslands (Icelandic Met Office). We are not affiliated with either agency.

2. Acceptance

By using the website or creating an email alert, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

3. Paid Services

Iceland Roads does not currently sell anything. There is no paid tier, no subscription and no checkout in operation. Nobody is charged for any part of this service today.

Paid alert plans are in development. If one launches, these terms will be updated first, with the price, what is included, the refund policy and your statutory right of withdrawal all stated in full before any payment is possible. Alerts you already have will not be switched off or converted to paid without advance notice by email.

4. Alerts & Accuracy

• Alerts are automated extracts from official feeds. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness
• Road conditions change rapidly. Always verify on road.is, vedur.is, and safetravel.is before driving
• We are not liable for decisions made based on alerts
• "One email per road opening" applies per season; re-closures may not re-trigger

5. Your Responsibilities

• Provide a valid email address
• Give explicit consent when signing up for alerts
• Manage or cancel any alert via the link in every email (no login required)
• Do not resell or redistribute alerts commercially

6. Intellectual Property

• Alert content derived from public official sources (CC BY 4.0)
• Our compilation, templates, and code are proprietary
• "Iceland Roads" name and logo are trademarks

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Icelandic law:

• Service provided "as is" without warranties
• No liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• The service is supplied free of charge, so no fee has been paid for it and none is refundable

8. Termination

• Alerts auto-purge 30 days after they are unconfirmed or unsubscribed
• Alerts with a trip-date window stop on their own end date
• We may terminate for abuse (spam, resale, automated scraping)

9. Governing Law & Disputes

Icelandic law applies. Disputes resolved in Icelandic courts (Reykjavík).

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes notified via email 30 days prior. Continued use = acceptance.
