Understanding alerts
Urgent: road closed or impassable; do not attempt to drive. Warning: hazardous conditions; drive with extreme caution or avoid. Advisory: be aware of changing conditions. Dashed, faded cards haven’t been refreshed by Vegagerðin in over 48 hours and may no longer be accurate.
A “Near X (~N km)” card is a single reported closure point (a bridge, tunnel, or short stretch) with no road number attached in Vegagerðin’s data - not the whole surrounding area. “Rd” cards with a road number are the ones that cover a real stretch of that specific road.
