Getting there

The Westfjords' showpiece sits on Route 60 between Flókalundur and Ísafjörður - about an hour from Ísafjörður over the Dynjandisheiði plateau, where the road has been progressively rebuilt and paved in recent years. Free car park at the base with a 15-minute uphill path past the six smaller falls. The plateau section can close in winter storms; this is a May-to-October drive for most visitors.
