Diamond Circle

North Iceland's answer to the Golden Circle is a roughly 445 km loop from Akureyri through Goðafoss, Dettifoss, Húsavík, and Ásbyrgi canyon. It rivals the South Coast for variety - Europe's most powerful waterfall, a whale-watching capital, and a legendary canyon. Roads are generally good, but gravel sections near Dettifoss require care.
